Pam Fahndrich, co-founder and COO of Third River, grew up next door to the Brenneman-Turner Mill, a historic grist mill located near Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, Virginia. It was built about 1800, and is a 2 1/2-story, Federal style brick building. The building retains its water wheel, measuring 16 feet in diameter and 5 feet wide, and three sets of burr stones. The mill survived General Philip Sheridan’s burning of the Shenandoah Valley in 1864, and remained in operation until 1988.
The water wheel powers all of the gears and operation of the mill. On a recent visit to visit Pam’s folks, who still live next to the mill, several of the family members descended into the wheel to see if they could make it go around. It was kind of like a giant hamster wheel. They were all successful in getting the wheel turning on their own strength, but were unable to keep it going for very long.
We find the same thing to be true for most local businesses and their marketing. They can get it off the ground, trying this and that based on a seminar, workshop, or training that they have attended, but it proves very difficult to keep the wheel spinning under their own power. After all, they have a business to run, people to manage, and customers to serve.
That is where we come in at Third River Marketing. We provide the strategies, tools, and solutions to power your marketing and help you grow your business.
We begin by optimizing your online presence and reputation as foundational components of your marketing efforts. Once we have a strong foundation in place for you, we are ready to start driving traffic to your website and business, converting them into new leads and customers.
